* THE FUNGI KINGDOM: (EL REINO DE LOS HONGOS) – Fungi feed on other living things. (Se alimentan de otros seres vivos). – They can not move about. (No pueden desplazarse). – They can be found on the ground, on pieces of wood or on decomposing food. (Pueden verse en la tierra, en trozos de madera o comida en descomposición). – Many fungi are beneficial to people, but others can be harmful. (Muchos hogos pueden ser beneficiosos para las personas, pero otros son dañinos). – Types: (Tipos) + Mushrooms: most of them have an umbrella shape but they have also different shapes. (Hongos con seta: la mayoría tienen forma de paraguas pero también pueden tener otras formas). They are multicellular. (Son pluricelulares). + Yeast: they are very small and you have to use a microscope. They are used to make bread, wine or beer. They are unicellular. (Levaduras: son muy pequeñas y tienes que usar un microscopio. Se usan para fabricar pan, vino. Son unicelulares). + Moulds: they grow on some types of decaying food such as fruit, bread or cheese. They are multicellular.(Mohos: crecen en algunos tipos de comida en descomposición como fruta, pan o queso. Son pluricelulares).
* THE PROTISTA KINGDOM: (EL REINO DE LOS PROTOCTISTAS) – There are two types: algae and protozoa. (Hay dos tipos: algas y protozoos) + ALGAE – They make their own food. (Fabrican su propia comida). – They are aquatic living things that can be unicellular o multicellular. (Son seres vivos acuáticos que pueden ser unicelulares o pluricelulares). – They are very nutritious, so they are used as food in many countries. (Son muy nutritivas, por lo que son usadas como comida en muchos países). – They are also used as fertilizer and to produce cosmetics. (También se usan como fertilizante y para fabricar cosméticos).
+ PROTOZOA – They are unicellular living things that live in aquatic environments. (Son seres vivos unicelulares que viven en medios acuáticos). – They feed on other organisms. (Se alimentan de otros organismos). – Some of them can cause diseases. (Algunos pueden provocar enfermedades).
* THE MONERA KIGNDOM (EL REINO DE LAS BACTERIAS). BACTERIA: (BACTERIA). – They are the smallest and simplest living things, and can only be seen through a microscope. (Son los seres vivos más pequeños y simples y sólo pueden verse con un microscopio). – Some bacteria make their own food , others feed on other organisms. (Algunas bacterias fabrican su propio alimento y otras se alimentan de otros organismos). – They can be found everywhere in the world. They live in all kinds of environments: in water, soil, air or inside other living things. (Pueden encontrarse en todas partes del mundo. Viven en toda clase de medios: agua, tierra, aire o dentro de otros seres vivos). – Some bacteria are helpful but others are harmful. (Algunas bacterias son beneficiosas, pero otras son perjudiciales). |
